3 silver coin spoons, Turkish silver kurus, condiment spoons
Three small silver coin spoons made from silver Turkish Kurus coins minted in the last years of the Ottoman Empire
Each double-headed spoon is formed from a 1 kurus and 2 kurus coin connected together with a barley-twist stem.
This is an unusual set of spoons for salt or other condiments which would appeal to the coin collector as well as just being an attractive cutlery item to use at the table. They were probably originally used as measuring spoons.
The spoons are made in .830 grade silver and date to the years around 1910. The spoons weigh 4g each so around 12g in total.
Maximum length is 7cm/1.75 inches long.
Diameter of the curved 1 kurus coin is 1.4 cm/0.5 inches and of the 2 kurus coin is 1.6 cm/0.7 inches.
The spoons will be dispatched by signed delivery.
