Birmingham silver bangle, hallmarked 1964, hinged engraved bracelet
Vintage sterling silver bangle hallmarked for Birmingham in 1964, presented in an olive green presentation box.
The hinged bangle is hand-engraved with Georgian style leaves and scrolls to the upper half. The lower outer and inner bands are undecorated, and the hallmarks are impressed to the inside.
This is a very good quality bangle in a nice weight of silver, The bracelet is fastened with a fixed tongue and groove fitting, not requiring a safety chain.
Maker's initials are "R & W", which possibly stands for Reynolds and Westwood of Birmingham.
This is a lovely vintage item in a good size and with plenty of impact!
6 cm/2.5 inches maximum diameter; 18 cm/7.25 inches internal (wrist fitting) circumference; 20.5 cm/8 inches external circumference.
Silver weight is 48g (well over 1.5 troy ounces).
Condition is very good. Surface scratches from previous use but no dings, dents or other damage. Box is not original but is also in good condition.
