My Early Times, Charles Dickens, Folio Society book
Folio Society book "My Early Times" is an autobiography by Charles Dickens on the early life of one of the most famous authors in the English speaking world.
This incredible Victorian author did not even complete his education - having been forced to leave school when his father ended up in prison for debt. Written in the beautiful prose for which he is famous, there are three sections: "Childhood", "Boyhood" and "Manhood" with a Epilogue. This is a must for the student of Victorian literature and of the social history about which Dickens provides us with so much detail throughout his works.
This Folio Society edition is compiled, edited and introduced by Peter Rowland, and published in 1988. There are 252 pages including the introduction and a list of illustrations, which are scattered throughout the book. The book has a cream-coloured marble-effect hardback cover with a red cloth spine. It is protected by a red cardboard slip cover. The beautiful presentation of this volume, as with other Folio Society books, just serves to enhance the reader experience.
The book is in very good condition, with no significant marks or scuffs. The slip cover is in good condition, with just the slight marks and scuffs from storage and age.
