Pair of silver plated knife rests, Art Nouveau trifoliate style
Pair of silver plated knife rests with Art Nouveau style trifoliate ends. They probably date to the late Victorian or Edwardian era, when they were popular.
It is a wonder this useful and attractive cutlery utensil is so rarely used these days - what a simple and effective way to keep the cake knife or carving knife from coming into contact with a clean tablecloth or polished table surface! The second photo shows them in use - knife not for sale!
Length is 7 cm/2.75 inches. Height is 4 cm/1.5 inches.
Condition is good. There are some surface scratches from previous use but no plate loss.
Please view the photographs carefully to ensure you are happy with the description and condition before bidding. I am always willing to answer queries and provide more photographs on request.
