Pair of silver plated knife rests, barley twist pattern, Victorian or Edwardian
Pair of silver plated knife rests in a barlet twist pattern with crossed ends, probably dating to the late Victorian or Edwardian era, when they were popular.
The knife rests are made in EPBM (Electro-Plated Britannia Metal).
IThis useful and attractive cutlery utensil is rarely used these days - but what a simple and effective way to keep the cake knife or carving knife from coming into contact with a clean tablecloth or polished table surface! The second photo shows them in use - knife not for sale!
Length is 8 cm/3 inches. Height is 3 cm/1.25 inches.
Condition is good to commensurate with previous use. There are some small patches of plate loss
