Beaverbrook Newspapers

  • £12.50

Art book periodical containing 16 colour prints by the Spanish Cubist artist Pablo Picasso from a series published by Beaverbrook Newspapers Ltd.

This is one of a series from the 1950s and 1960s, entitled "16 Beautiful Colour Prints" and described as "An Express Art Book".

This particular magazine refers to Picasso's "Blue and Rose periods". After the initial pages which give a brief introduction to the artist, the pull-out colour prints are provided on glossy paper thoughout the rest of the periodical. The facing page gives information and photographs relating to each individual print. The 16th print is placed between the cellophane cover and the front of the periodical.

The outer cover of the periodical is in stiffened card to protect the inner pages.

The size of the periodical is 37 cm x 27 cm/14.5 " x 10.6".

Condition of the periodical is commensurate with a little previous use. The thick quality paper sheets to the inside are beginning to separate from the inner spine, although none are loose at present. The original cellophane to the outer cover has a slight tear. All the 16 print.s are present. There may be some creasing, minor bending or minor surface marks to the outer cover from long-term storage. The date of the periodical has been hand-written at the top front.

At the time of writing I have similar periodicals on other artists available.
