Sickert, Express Art Book, 16 Full Colour Prints, 1960s
Art book periodical containing 16 colour prints by the British artist Sickert from a series published by Beaverbrook Newspapers Ltd.
The artist lived from 1860 to 1942, spanning an interesting period in European history. This is one of the British Painters Series in the 1950s and 1960s, and described as "An Express Art Book".
After the initial pages which give a brief introduction to the artist, the pull-out colour prints are set out with some detail to the picture set out on the opposite page. The prints are provided on glossy paper thoughout the rest of the periodical. The 16th print is placed between the cellophane cover and the front of the periodical.
The outer cover of the periodical is in stiffened card to protect the inner pages.
The size of the periodical is 37 cm x 27 cm/14.5 " x 10.6".
Condition of the periodical is good, with little previous use. All the 16 prints are present. There may be some creasing, minor bending or minor surface marks to the outer cover from long-term storage.
